can you hold the space with me?
can you hold the space with me?
knowing it is a space
that we do not create
but a space we discover
as it creates itself through us
transcends our shapes and forms
as beautiful as they may look to the human eye
can you hold the space with me?
knowing none of it belongs
to either you or me
it is something we are allowed
to witness and observe
through which we learn to see
unlearn what we once thought
was all there really was
and all that really mattered
can you hold the space with me?
knowing that it is held not by our hands
not our bodies not our will
nor our voices nor our words
only by the silence between the syllables
the unspoken space between the vowels
the silence within the silence
the space within the space
can you hold this space with me?
witness it fill itself
fulfill its prophecy
becoming what we never knew
never thought
could ever exist
as simply and beautifully
outside of all conventions
and concepts and norms
outside of conventional
shades and sounds and forms
can you hold this space with me?
knowing none of it belongs to us
nothing of you belongs to me
and nothing of me belongs to you
and paradoxically
by letting it all go
we become one and the same
and all belongs to us again
can you hold this space with me?
unconditionally?
unperturbedly?
with love and affection
care and respect?
can you hold the space with me?
letting go of your shadows
and not speaking to mine
seeing right through me
into yourself?
can you hold the space with me?
beyond the reflections
and illusions
beyond the perfection
of the illusion?
can you hold the space with me?
hold the paradoxes
the beauty in the ugliness
the ugly in the beauty?
the pain in the light
and the light in the pain?
the nothingness
and everything-ness
at the very same time?
can you hold the space with me?
forget about the future and the past
the worries and the sorrows
yesterdays and tomorrows
knowing we can’t borrow
from the future for the past
nor from the past into the future
knowing that there is really
nothing that will ever last
apart from our nothingness
the light into which we dissolve
into which we have dissolved
already
can you hold the light with me?
can you look at it
and through it?
can you see through it
into yourself
to realise how small you are
and through it see
how you are truly
magnificent
and infinite
at the very same time?
can you hold the light with me?
knowing that in light there is
no time for time stands still
and is infinite at once
the light is infinite
in the very present now
in the now
and the now
and the now
can you hold the now with me?
knowing there is nothing out there
other than the now
other than what is happening right now?
and that through the presence we learn
to see to know to feel
that there is nothing out there
no you no me
no war just peace
infinite mercy
can you hold the now with me?
watch it rise and bend the impossible
watch it fight and rage
listen to it scream
from pain and grief
and holding it tight
whispering into the fire
it’s all right
can you hold the light with me?
as it expands to become so powerful
it blows everything to pieces
watch it break weapons
and burn tanks
and destroy everything
look at it in awe
in gratitude
can you hold the space with me?
beyond the chitchat of thoughts
beyond the shadows that sought
to dim our lights and pretend to rise
to the level of the divine?
can you hold the space with me?
knowing you are me
and i am you
and all we see
is just a fiction?
there’s no friction
once you see
that what you feel
has really nothing to do
with any of what you see?
can you hold the space with me?
calmly let go of all we have
and once pretended to be?
blissfully forgive and forget
all we once thought were
things we needed to know
needed to become
needed to be?
can you hold the space with me?
take infinite pleasure
in witnessing our dissolution
our parting
our rising
from the separation
to the oneness
finally
again?
